Thomas J. Lamson, affectionately known as Tom, was born on January 3, 1965, in Milford, MA. He passed away on August 1, 2024, in Worcester, MA, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, kindness, and strength that touched everyone who had the fortune of knowing him.
Tom spent his early career as a steelworker for Lista before transitioning to the field of security, spending time at Wyman Gordon and eventually as a Security Supervisor at Quest Diagnostics, where he dedicated over a decade of his life. Tom was not just an employee; he was often seen as a pillar of the community, building lasting relationships with his coworkers. Many would describe him as “the kindest man,” always taking the time to brighten someone’s day with a warm smile or a friendly conversation. His steadfast dedication to both his work and his colleagues created an environment of camaraderie and family, where laughter and kindness thrived.
In his personal life, Tom cherished his close-knit circle of friends and family while also valuing his moments of solitude. His interests were diverse—he found joy in playing his favorite video game, PUBG, and discovering the tranquility of nature through fishing and long walks, his favorite place being Lake Park in Worcester. His amiable spirit made him a beloved regular at local convenience stores, where he loved to engage in conversations and try his luck with the lottery.
Tom possessed a uniquely giving heart. He was always prepared to lend a helping hand, whether it was offering what he could to those less fortunate or providing support to loved ones during trying times. His quirky ability to make others laugh and find joy in small things was a testament to his character. He was a man of unwavering conviction, always standing firm in his beliefs and advocating for himself with strength, tenacity, and determination. One of his slogans, “Happy Days,” served not only as a mantra for himself but as a gentle prompt for everyone around him to seek the silver linings even on the darkest days.
Family meant everything to Tom, and he wore his pride in is children like a badge of honor. He carried with him photos of Sarah, his beloved daughter, and Noah, his dear son, in his wallet for over twenty years, a constant reminder of the love and joy they brought to his life. He also deeply treasured his relationships with his mother, Donna Dube, and treasured his memories and love of his sisters, Tammy, Vickie, and Suzanne.
Tom was also a true animal lover, doting on his two feline companions, Marco and Polo, with all his heart. They brought immense joy to him in his daily life. He enjoyed simple pleasures, including indulging his sweet tooth with nonpareils and ice cream, relishing his morning coffee—either black with sugar or an iced mocha—and sharing the cherished ritual of coffee chats early in the mornings with his longtime friend Kevin. His fondness for history and knowledge was evident in his love for the History Channel and National Geographic, a testament to his curiosity of the world around him.
Though his battle with Plasma Cell Leukemia, diagnosed in July 2023, posed significant challenges, Tom faced it with resilience and an unwavering spirit. He demonstrated formidable courage and grit in his fight against it. He was proud of the man he had become and the strength he exhibited throughout his life, especially in these most challenging of moments, inspiring those around him to cherish every second this life offers to us.
Tom Lamson has departed this world, but his memory lives on in the hearts of everyone he touched. He will be profoundly missed by his children, Sarah Lamson and Noah Hart, son-in-law, Zachary Westelman, his mother, Donna Dube, his sisters, Tammy Jackson, Vickie Roberts, and Suzanne Thompson, his friend and former spouse, Karen Lamson, Also holding dear memories of Tom are a close-knit circle of friends, including his longtime friend, Kevin White, and childhood friend, Rob Algieri, as well as other dear family members and friends. To know Tom was to know a man of integrity, determination, love, and laughter—a beacon of light in a world that now seems a little dimmer without him. Let us all honor Tom by enjoying life’s little pleasures and remembering to seek out our own "happy days."

Your support meant the world to him and his family, and you have helped lighten the heaviness we feel by your presence and support even after his passing. Thank you for getting to know him, allowing him to get to know you, for providing friendship and laughter, and for being a trusted source of support during such uncertain times.
