Sydney Laroy Brace

Sydney Brace, 65, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at her home in West Boylston, Ma., surrounded by her caring staff, after a battle with cervical cancer. A beloved friend to so many from her days at Glavin all the way to her years living in West Boylston and going to her program in Sterling Ma. she touched so many lives on her journey. She leaves behind her Cousin Barbara Prichett of Florida, Sharon a friend since her Glavin days, Victor her guardian who was a great advocate for Sydney and her housemates Mary, Marian and Gerry, Lenny, Mark, Derek and her special friend Jon and all the staff who were lucky to have been able to spend time with her. She was predeceased by her mother, Patricia Brace.

Born on September 14, 1959, in Springfield, Ma., Sydney's journey through life was marked by an abundance of friendships and cherished connections.

Sydney was a woman of remarkable resilience that helped carry her through her many life struggles. She loved music and loved to dance and sing she knew the lyrics to so many songs. 

No matter where she went Sydney would usually bump into a friend that she had not seen in years. She loved going to visit with her friend Sharon whom she spent most mothers’ days with at the church attending the Mother’s Day breakfast, she also spent many Christmases with Sharon as well. Sydney always looked forward to cards, letters and emails from her cousin Barbara. 

Sydney loved going out it never mattered where she was going, on vacation or just for a ride she really enjoyed herself.

Sydney also liked to collect things wallets, purses, shoes, clothes and water bottles, she never thought she had enough and always enjoyed shopping for more.

As we remember Sydney, and her smile that lit up every room, the laughter she shared with her friends, and the warmth that enveloped the lives she touched. Her spirit and kindness will forever be etched in our hearts, inspiring us all to live with the same love and joy that she exemplified every day.

We will be having a celebration of life and remembrance at 16 Foster St. West Boylston Ma. on March 7th from 4pm-6pm
