Spencer, MA

Sue Gervais (formerly Beando), beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 8 at the age of 64, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of William and Rose Beando, and the devoted wife of her late husband, David, with whom she was married for 36 years. Sue was a longtime resident of the town of Spencer and a proud graduate of David Prouty High School, class of 1978.

Sue was a woman of boundless love, warmth, and kindness. She had a special place in her heart for animals, and was especially fond of dolphins, gingerbread men, dragonflies, ladybugs, cardinals, and the beauty of the beach. Her passion for photography and art reflected her deep appreciation for the world around her. Sue had a wonderful sense of humor and could always find a reason to laugh, even during her final days, sharing joy with all who were by her side.

Sue was also a devoted mother and grandmother, leaving behind her cherished daughters Jessica and Ashley, and her grandchildren, Leah, Kolton, and Jaxon. She is survived by her sister Roberta and her husband Warren, her brother Gary, and several nieces and nephews. Her dogs, Laci and Reese, were her beloved companions and will miss her deeply, along with her late pets, Maggi, Baxter, Harley, and Dunkin, who now join her in heaven.

Sue’s nurturing spirit touched many lives through her daycare, where she cared for and loved countless children over 15 years. Her generosity and devotion to others will always be remembered by her family and friends. She leaves behind many dear friends, including her close friends Lisa and Dave, who brought her so much joy over the years.

In honor of Sue’s love for animals and the fight against cancer, the family kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to one of the following organizations:

  • American Cancer Society
  • Best Friends Animal Society

A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at a later date.

Sue will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
