Stephen Joseph Wilson, a cherished soul who graced this world with his joyful spirit, was born on March 22, 1954, in Worcester, Massachusetts. He spent his life touching the hearts of everyone around him, leaving an imprint that will never be forgotten. After graduating from Quabbin High School in 1972, Stephen embarked on a successful career as a residential and commercial painter, dedicating over 30 years to his craft.
Stephen’s life was woven with laughter, love, and adventure. Known for his ever-present smile and happy demeanor, he brought joy wherever he went. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for fishing, camping, and traveling, particularly relishing the many family vacations spent along the shores of Hampton Beach and York, Maine. Additionally, Stephen was a passionate NASCAR enthusiast and a devoted fan of Boston sports, always bringing his characteristic enthusiasm to every game and race.
On December 18, 2024, Stephen passed away peacefully at home in Leicester, Massachusetts, surrounded by his beloved family. He leaves behind his wife, Rita (Despres) Wilson, with whom he shared 49 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and warmth. Stephen is also survived by his children, Bart and Ella, who were blessed to call him Dad. He took immense pride in being a papa to his favorite grandchildren, Dylan, Justin, and Ava, who brought him great joy and happiness.
In addition to his immediate family, Stephen is remembered fondly by his siblings, Donna, Jimmy, and Lynn, as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews, each of whom he cared for deeply.
While he is predeceased by his parents, Chester and Pauline Wilson, Stephen's legacy continues to thrive through the lives he touched and the love he shared. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. As we remember Stephen, we celebrate a life lived fully, a spirit that radiated happiness and love.
