Shelley Ann Higgins (Lucci)

Shelley Ann Higgins, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, was born on October 7, 1958, in Leominster. Shelley's journey on this earth came to a gentle close on September 8, 2024, in Fitchburg, a place where she poured so much love and warmth into the lives of those around her.

With a personality radiated kindness and compassion, Shelley was the quintessential embodiment of unconditional love. She was a devoted mother who took the time to truly listen, always eager to hear about the days of her children and grandchildren. She provided a safe space for them, free of judgment, and offered sage advice that came from her vast well of wisdom and experience. Her children—Michelle Flannery and Kathleen Higgins, along with her son John Higgins,daughter-in-law Nereida Higgins and son -in-law Michael Flannery --were the highlights of her life, and she wore her pride for them like a sparkling badge of honor.

Shelley’s love extended deeply to her grandchildren: Jacob Day, Kyler Santiago, Vanessa Higgins, Alyssa Higgins, Sean Flannery, Michaela Flannery, and Liam Higgins. She found joy in their laughter and cherished every moment spent with them. Family gatherings brought her immense happiness, as she loved nothing more than creating memories surrounded by those she adored.

Beyond her family ties, Shelley had a knack for crafting, taking immense joy in crocheting beautiful pieces that often became treasured keepsakes for her loved ones. Her artistic talents, coupled with her generosity, reflected her loving spirit. She also possessed a remarkable strength that shone through even during difficult times—a testament to the resilient heart clinging to love and compassion for others.

Shelley's incredible journey is bitterly sweet, marked by cherished moments and the profound legacy of love she leaves behind. Her absence will be felt deeply by those fortunate enough to have known her, but the lessons she imparted and the love she fostered will continue to live on within her family.

She is reunited now with her beloved parents, Roberta Ann Gray-Lucci and Lorenzo Victorio Lucci, and her dear aunt and uncle, Cynthia and Jim Davidson. As her spirit reigns on in the hearts of her family, the warmth she exuded will forever remain a guiding light in their lives.
