Ronald Paul Adams, 84, of Holland, MA, was welcomed into heaven on October 14, 2024.

Ron was born in Worcester, MA on February 17, 1940, the son of Carlton and Shirley(Walker) Adams. He graduated from North High School, then went on to Wentworth College, earning a degree in Electrical engineering.

 Ron served in the Army in the Vietnam era, serving at Thule Air Force base in Greenland as a radar operator. He liked to say “There was a woman behind every tree” (But there were hardly any trees). 

Ron was predeceased by 5 brothers, Terrence, Dennis, Dean, Mark, and Jeffrey. He leaves behind a brother, Peter Adams, and his wife, Denise, of Spencer. 

 Ron was a hopeless romantic. He had 2 wives he dearly loved. With the late Jean (Kneeland) Adams he had 2 sons, Daniel Adams of Sterling, MA, and Todd Adams of Parker, CO. He helped raise 2 stepdaughters, June (Jarvis) Sundberg of Princeville, HI, and Dianne (Jarvis) Leonhardt of Homosassa, FL.

He was married 32 years to Priscilla (Raila) Adams. He leaves a stepson, Paul Steinmetz of Leominster; and 2 stepdaughters, Cathy Edic and Christine Cadarette both of Southbridge. He was predeceased by stepdaughter Jaqueline Ray. He leaves 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ron chose to live out his last days with his loved ones and dear friends Lisa and Kevin Pepper, and their sons Vincent, Anthony, and Matthew, in Holland MA.

He worked for over 30 years for Mitutoyo America as a calibration engineer, travelling extensively. He loved travelling, and always knew the best driving routes, and was a great resource when taking a trip. 

Ron had a great sense of humor. he loved to laugh, and always found the light side of any situation. He had great charm and a sparking personality. One of his greatest joys was spending times with friends and family. He had a great love for music. He sang and played guitar, inspiring his brothers and son to take it up. He loved entertainment and sound equipment, and had a setup that rivalled mission control. He was skilled in plumbing, electrical, and construction, maintaining his own home until last year. 

A memorial service will be held Monday, November 4, at 3 PM at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St, Agawam, MA. Ron was known for his love of animals. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Thomas J O'Connor Animal Control & Adoption Center, 627 Cottage St, Springfield, MA 01104.
