It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Randi Beth O'Day, a remarkable woman whose spirit and resilience touched everyone she encountered. Born on December 6, 1958, in Philadelphia, Randi went on to become a high school graduate, but her true education came from her life's experiences. She effortlessly balanced the responsibilities of work and home, always striving to help her family not just survive, but thrive. Randi's unyielding determination and fierce love for those around her defined her existence.
Throughout her life, Randi was a blend of humor and tenacity. She was known for her smart-ass remarks and her bossy nature, which many saw as a sign of her deep love and commitment. Her kindness and warmth enveloped all who were lucky enough to know her. She had an unparalleled ability to create memories that would last a lifetime; whether it was through her witty banter or shared moments in front of trashy reality TV, Randi made every moment count. Those who spent time with her will cherish the simple pleasure of just sitting together, talking, and enjoying one another's company.
Randi's proudest accomplishments centered around her two beloved sons, Ryan and Robert Shannon. As a mother, she poured her heart into caring for them and nurturing their growth, always ensuring they felt loved and supported. Her affection extended beyond her children, as she also adored all her pets, treating them with the same care and love she showed her family.
Randi's journey came to a close on February 23, 2025, in Milford. She faced her battle with cancer with the same strength she exhibited throughout her life. With a heart full of love and resolve, she generously gave everything she had and declared that she was ready to stop fighting. In her final moments, Randi proclaimed that she would not allow cancer to defeat her; instead, she chose to confront it on her own terms.
She is predeceased by her husband, Don O'Day, her first husband, Charles Shannon, and her beloved parents, Janice Sharon Greenstein Boorstein and Marvin Boorstein. Those who survive her—her cherished sons—carry forward her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. Randi leaves an indelible mark on her family and friends, and although she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
