Peter H. Tveskov was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, to the late Ella Hein and Carl Peter Hedegaard, and lived there until he moved to Venezuela in 1948 where he completed his secondary education and was adopted by his stepfather, the late Axel Tveskov. After returning to the United States, he earned a Bachelor of Engineering in 1956 from Yale University. Following ten years working in the oil fields of west Texas, Venezuela, and Brazil, he became the physical plant manager, first at Yale University and later at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. Later in his career, he served as a consultant in facilities operations that took him to assignments at Brown University, Connecticut College, Milton Academy, and many other academic organizations. He retired in 1997. Though retired, Mr. Tveskov continued working as a consultant in capital project management, as well as a group leader for Elderhostel-Scandinavian Seminar, guiding groups of senior citizens on tours of the three Scandinavian countries. He also found time to publish a memoir of his childhood living in Denmark during the German occupation of World War II - Conquered Not Defeated.
Peter will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of travel and languages, and devotion to his family.
Peter is survived by his wife Judith, his children Lynn Tveskov, Michael Tveskov (Virginia), Sharon Tveskov (Lionel), and Mark Tveskov (Rachel), and grandchildren Laura Pandolfo, Bart Tveskov, and Cody Tveskov.
