Msgt Milo Holland

September 28, 1933 — March 3, 2023

Master Sergeant Milo Holland, 89 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home in Fitchburg MA, on March 3, 2023.  Milo was a Veteran who served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars.

MSG Holland was born September 28th, 1933 to Howard and Lillian Holland in New Port, RI. When he was just 17 attending Roger’s High School in New Port, RI he decided to join the U.S. Army ROTC. After graduating from high school, he decided to enlist in the army for active duty. After serving 22 years in the Army he retired and continued to work as a civilian at the Army hospital as a medical maintenance technician for another 18 years. When he wasn’t working, he had a passion for fishing, collecting insulators, bottles and fishing lures. He enjoyed doing his daily puzzles, going to antique shops and attending bottle & insulator shows.

Following high school, he got married to his high school sweetheart Grace Baker. They went on to have four children, Milo, James, Alice and Deborah. They were married for 69 years. He is survived by his wife Grace, son’s Milo Jr. and James, his daughter Deborah, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandson. Milo was preceded in death by his daughter Alice DeVault.

We have countless memories of him, including taking long walks, going fishing, vacations to NH & Cape Cod and so many stories of his life experiences. He is sorely missed by his family and friends.

There will be a short military service held at the veterans cemetery in Winchendon MA on Tuesday May 2, 2023 at 3 PM.  The military honors will begin promptly at 3 pm, they ask if you would like to attend to please arrive 15 minutes early. The service will be held in the chapel at the cemetery, the entrance is at the rear of the chapel.
