Mildred Mary Chodrick, preferably known as Millie, passed away suddenly on December 13, 2024, at UMass Worcester, following long-term illnesses. Born on August 26, 1948, in Everett, Massachusetts, she was the cherished daughter of Grace and Gordon Howell and a beloved sister to her siblings. Millie's legacy is one of profound love and dedication to her family and friends.
Millie devoted 38 years of her life to working as a hairdresser, a profession she embraced with passion and artistry. After a career change, she served for 15 years as a human rights officer for mentally handicapped adults, highlighting her compassion and commitment to elevating the lives of others. Millie was an advocate for those who needed a voice, demonstrating that her caring spirit extended far beyond her family.
Educationally, Millie attended Everett High School and then furthered her skills at Beauty Creators in Everett, where she honed her craft in the beauty industry. Her personality truly shone bright, characterized by warmth and humor. She was a loving mother and grandmother, always the person her family turned to for advice, embodying the essence of support and strength.
Millie's heart was filled with countless memories, particularly all the hugs and love she shared with her family. She took immense pride in her children and grandchildren, finding great joy in their accomplishments and simply spending time with them. Among her favorite pastimes were watching Hallmark movies, which provided her with comfort and entertainment during her leisure hours.
Millie is survived by her loving daughter, Charisse Haskins, son-in-law Ryan Aubrey, daughter Candice Vicente, and son-in-law Jason Vicente her son Dustin Chodrick, and daughter-in-law Leeanne Chodrick, Dale Chodrick, and daughter-in-law Gena Chodrick. She also leaves behind her stepdaughter, Shawnda Williams, "adopted son" Michael Lynch, and her dear brothers, Alex Howell, Gordon Howell, and James Rowen. Millie was a proud grandmother to Brandi, Amber, Trinity, Cheyenne, Charley, Samantha, Madeline, Evelyn, and Jake, and a great grandmother to Noah. Additionally, she was accompanied in life by her boyfriend, Maurice, who brought companionship and joy to her later years. Life long friends, nieces and nephews.
Millie was predeceased by her husband, Delbert (Jake) Chodrick, her mother Grace Howell, her father Gordon Howell, and her brother Burton Howell.
As we remember Mildred Mary Chodrick, we celebrate the profound impact she had on everyone she encountered. Her legacy lives on through the love she imparted to her family and her unwavering commitment to making the world a better place for those around her.
