Michael is fondly remembered by his beloved daughter, Madeline Rose Pellegrini, who resides in North Carolina. He is also survived by his former wife, Julie Johnson, and her partner, Bob, both of New York. The bonds of family and friends were very important to Michael.
He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Ann (Pellegrini) (Maniero) Darrah of Millbury, and his brothers, Anthony J. Pellegrini, Jr. and his wife, Jill, of Auburn, as well as Steven P. Pellegrini and his wife, Elena, of New York. Michael was born in Worcester and grew up in a 3 decker in the Grafton Hill neighborhood. He was educated in the Worcester Public Schools and graduated from the former Holy Name High School. Michael went on to earn a degree in Biology and Medical Technology from Stonehill College. He subsequently worked in various hospital labs and in medical sales. Michael then made the determination to become a teacher and graduated from UMASS-Boston with a Masters in Education. He taught a variety of science and math classes in several Massachusetts high schools. Michael concluded his teacher career at Worcester Technical High School in 2021. In addition to teaching, Michael coached both boys' and girls' basketball at the high school level in Eastern and Central Massachusetts.
Michael was an avid reader and very much enjoyed travel, listening to music, playing and coaching basketball, fine dining, and spending time with his family and long time friends. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his daughter, Madeline.
His final years after his ALS diagnosis were challenging, but he was still able to enjoy visits and calls from family near and far. A true highlight for Michael were the weekly visits on Friday evenings with his long time friends and watching Patriot games with these friends at one of their homes. A special thank you from Michael's family goes out to Steve L., Tim O., Rich M., Tom C., Steve M., Ray P., John L., and Rich L. for being such loyal friends over the years. The family would like to thank the entire staff at St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their dedication and loving care for Michael.
