James William Westover, affectionately known as "Jimbo," passed away on January 8, 2025, in Leominster after bravely battling lung cancer. Born on September 2, 1958, in Southbridge, Jim made a significant mark on the lives of those around him with his vibrant spirit and infectious sense of humor.
For several years, Jim dedicated himself to his career as a painter, where he brought color not only to walls and buildings, but also to the lives of everyone privileged to know him. His laughter echoed and his clever quips lightened every conversation, drawing smiles from both friends and family alike.
Jim was not just a skilled painter; he was also a passionate lover of scratchers, music, snack cakes, and spirited debates that would invoke laughter as much as they ignited a good argument. His charismatic personality endeared him to many, while his proudest accomplishment—his self-proclaimed title as the Mayor of High Street—speaks volumes to his many friendships and overall connection with those around him.
He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Sara and Katie, each of whom carries pieces of their father’s humor and zest for life within them. Jim is also survived by an enduring sibling bond with Frank, Patty, Doris, Mickey, and Martha, who will forever cherish the myriad memories they created together.
In his passing, Jim joins his late parents, Irene and Milton, as well as his siblings Cindy and Joe, in a profound reunion. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit, laughter, and love will undoubtedly continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.
As we remember Jim, let us celebrate the laughter he shared, the kindness he imparted, and the genuine connections he forged with others. He may have left this world too soon, but his legacy of love and light will live on through his cherished family and friends.
A celebration of life will be announced once plans have been made by the family. They appreciate your love and support during this difficult time.
