Inigo Anton Vega, age 10, passed away on May 20, 2023 with his parents, Alfonso and Lyndell Vega, by his side at Boston Children’s Hospital. For the last 20 months of his life, Inigo battled a metastatic brain tumor with strength and courage. He was a bright light with a glimmer in his eye, with laughter and love for everyone he met. Inigo never allowed his diagnosis to define him or hold him back from his passions. His faith in God and his many varied interests drove him to live each day with purpose. He was an inspiration to anyone who knew him and his story. Inigo’s legacy will live on through all who knew him. His story of courage and of his desire to live life well even through cancer is both uplifting and influential.
Inigo was a lover of people, a foodie, a basketball player, a motorcycle road-tripper, an avid mountain biker, a published author, a comic book writer and illustrator, painter, wood carver, dog lover, nature lover and camper, overlander, Bigfoot fanatic, bonsai enthusiast, gardener, RC car lover and collector, a rock hound who loved to pan for gold, guitarist and music aficionado, a voracious reader and movie lover, and always a dreamer and visionary.
No funeral services are planned. A celebration of Inigo’s life will take place in the Autumn. For words of encouragement or to support Inigo’s parents through this difficult time, please go to Inigo’s Love Is The Cure Cancer Journey GoFundMe at https://gofund.me/0e123dcc
