Gretchen Leah Green, 51, of Worcester, MA, tragically passed away October 8th, 2022, at the Worcester Umass Memorial Health Center after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Gretchen was born in Sharon, PA on June 7th,1971, where she would spend most of her young life before eventually making her way to Buffalo, NY at age 11. She would go on to become the first person in her generation to graduate from a four-year college with her Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Communications from Niagara University, Niagara Falls, NY.
Gretchen loved her family and always cherished spending time with them. She enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with her friends. She always stood abreast of the local news in Worcester, Sharon and Buffalo. She was an avid Patriot’s fan through thick and thin, win or lose.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her children, Willie J. Wisdomgold and Blessing K. Wisdomgold of Leominster, the two women who helped shape her life, Janice Green (Sharon, PA) and Edna Green (Buffalo, NY), her sisters Roxanne Pettiford (Sharon, PA) and Michele Adamu (Fitchburg, MA) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Gretchen was preceded in death by her father Preston Chavers, sister Melissa A. Green and her grandmother Eunice Williams.
The family will honor Gretchen’s memory with a Celebration of Life, on Saturday, November 26, 2022. It will be held at the Edward Sanders Community Center, 2777 Bailey Ave, Buffalo, NY 14215 from 3pm – 7pm. Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite football team as it will be New England Patriots Themed. Also, in lieu of flower you can donate to a GoFundMe account that is in support of her children Willie who is studying Law and Blessing is a Junior in High School.
