Ernest Stuart Chapman

Ernest Stuart Chapman, affectionately known as "Stu," was born January 19, 1967, in Waltham, Massachusetts. He departed this life on August 23, 2024 at his home in Spencer, Massachusetts, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Stu was a devoted family man, cherished by his spouse, Roseline, and his beloved daughter, Samantha Chapman, along with her fiancé John Tebo. He was also a proud stepfather to Peter Franks Jr., who is engaged to Angie Pheland, and Eric Tracey. His loving sister, Karen Fish, and her husband Mike, as well as his brother Charles Gillis and wife Sabrina, rounded out his immediate family. Stu’s legacy continues through his wonderful grandchildren, including JT, Jace, Elizabeth, Autumn, and Andrew, as well as numerous nephews and nieces, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

With a strong work ethic, Stu found fulfillment working with sheetrock and plumbing alongside his brothers. His hands-on approach to life was indicative of a man who took pride in everything he did. Beyond his professional pursuits, Stu was a lifelong fan of the Boston Bruins, sharing his love for hockey not just as a spectator, but as a passionate teacher to all the children in his life.

Stu was particularly fond of fishing, often spending countless hours at Quabbin, where he created memories that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to join him. His love for the outdoors combined with his enthusiasm for hockey endeared him to many, creating bonds that transcended mere friendship.

A beloved uncle, he embraced his role with warmth and kindness, always ready to offer support and encouragement. His presence brought joy to gatherings, and his laughter will echo in the hearts of those who knew him.

Stu leaves behind a legacy of love, camaraderie, and cherished memories. He was deeply loved and respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His absence will be felt profoundly, as he touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by friends and family alike.ation
