Ellen Margaret Yorston

Ellen Margaret Yorston, a compassionate soul dedicated to caring for others, passed away peacefully at her home on January 12, 2025, with her beloved husband, Stephen J. Yorston, Sr, by her side. She was born on December 19, 1962, in Worcester, MA, where she grew up and graduated from Holy Name High School before pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Quinsigamond Community College.

Ellen devoted many years of her life to oncology nursing at UMass Medical Center, where she provided support and comfort to countless patients battling cancer. Her selfless nature, strong will, and unwavering fight against her own illness were remarkable traits that defined her life. Known for her heart of gold, she was a loving and caring person, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

In addition to her dedication to nursing, Ellen cherished the great outdoors. She found joy in hiking, horseback riding, and riding motorcycles. Her love for animals extended to her dogs, who were a vital part of her life.

Ellen is survived by her beloved husband, Stephen J. Yorston, Sr.; her brothers, Bernie Galeckas and his wife Marion and Bob Galeckas and his wife Susan; her sister, Margery Patridge; her stepchildren, Tiffiny Yorston Rueham and her husband Adam, Tara Yorston Goodwin and her husband Sol, and Stephen J. Yorston, Jr. She is predeceased by her father, Joseph Galeckas, and her mother, Helen (Lingaitis) Galeckas.

Ellen Margaret Yorston will be remembered fondly for her kindness, strength, and indomitable spirit. Her legacy of compassion and love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 31st, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Comfort Cremation, 1027 Main St, Worcester, MA.
