Ellen Allienello passed away peacefully on the morning of November 1, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her two loving daughters Christine Lanoue (daughter of Ronald Shappy, who preceded her in death) and Gina Simmons (daughter of Pasquale Allienello, who also preceded her in death). Ellen leaves behind her six cherished grandchildren: Camiron Lanoue, Alexandria Lanoue, Wesley Ainsworth, Wyatt Simmons, Emmett Simmons and Hunter Simmons. She is also survived by her sisters Robin O’Halloran and Colleen Machado.
She was a decorated writer, an adventurous spirit, eclectic collector, had a ferocious appetite for reading, laughing and being eternally optimistic no matter the challenges she endured. Ellen was gifted with an incredible sense of humor. She had the uncanny ability to draw the life stories out of complete strangers with her charismatic and nurturing personality.
A particular writing by Margaret Mead is how we hear her voice….“To the living, I am gone…the sorrowful, I will never return…Remember me in your heart: your thoughts and your memories, of the times we loved, cried, fought and laughed for if you always think of me, I will never have gone. I am at peace.”
Mom, we love you always and forever, too.
