Donna Marie Erickson-Hovagimian

Donna Marie Erickson-Hovagimian, born on November 26, 1968, in Worcester, Massachusetts, departed this life peacefully on February 9, 2025, at the UMASS North Pavilion, surrounded by her loving family. Donna fought a courageous battle with cholangiocarcinoma for over a year, displaying extraordinary strength and resilience that all who knew her admired. She was under the great care of Reliant Medical Group Oncology/Infusion Center where she was loved by all staff. 

Raised in Millbury, Massachusetts, Donna graduated from Millbury High School in the class of 1986 and subsequently honed her talents at Rob Roy Beauty School, where she discovered her passion for hairdressing. Her career blossomed at Sylvia’s, where her caring and kind nature shone through every haircut and color, leaving her clients feeling uplifted and radiant.

Donna was full of joy and truly embodied the spirit of living life to its fullest potential. With her outgoing personality, she had an innate ability to make those around her smile. A devoted mom, she cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, ensuring that the warmth of her love and laughter filled their lives. Frequently spotted driving her white smart car with the convertible top down, Donna embraced life, her ruby red lipstick never forgotten.

Beyond her family, Donna’s deep compassion extended to animals of all kinds. Whether rescuing hurt or endangered wildlife or showcasing her beloved parrots in summer camp performances, she never hesitated to lend a hand to any creature in need.

Donna enjoyed camping trips with her family, where laughter and adventure blended harmoniously. She found joy in simple things, like thrift store shopping trips that turned into cherished memories. The love she shared with her family will be remembered by all who knew her.

She leaves behind four wonderful children: her sons David Brian Erickson Jr. and his wife Jessica, William Wallace Erickson-Goguen and his husband Dylan, her daughters Felecia Marie Malpass and her husband Zachary, and Sabrina-Lynn Marie Erickson and her fiancé Justin Emmanuel Delinois. The smiles of her five grandchildren—Layla, Hunter, Bennett, Emma, and Landyn—were her greatest joys.

Donna is survived by her beloved sister, Diana Stratton, and her husband Micah Stratton, along with her cherished nephew, John Stratton. She also leaves her lifelong friend Paul Leblanc and many other friends and relatives who were touched by her kindness and vibrant spirit.

In addition to her family, Donna is preceded in death by her parents, John and Constance Hovagimian (Puretta), who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms into eternal peace.

Donna Marie Erickson leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and joy that will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her laughter and light will forever be missed but never forgotten.
