Albert George Lamontagne, a cherished father and passionate outdoorsman, passed away on February 22, 2025, at Blackstone Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Whitinsville. He was born on December 15, 1943, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Elzeard and Alice Lamontagne, who predeceased him.

Albert's early career saw him working for Schneider's Meat Packing in Sutton and Coz Plastics in Northbridge. However, his true passion was realized as proprietor of "Al's Bait Shop" in Whitinsville and Douglas, a beloved establishment that became a staple for the local fishing community. Throughout his life, Al nurtured his love of the outdoors, particularly fishing and hunting.

A proud Navy veteran, Albert served his country with distinction, embodying the values of dedication and service. His intense love for nature and fishing was matched only by his devotion to his family. Albert was a devoted father, leaving behind his beloved daughter, Tina Louise Lamontagne, and her partner, Jeffrey Schoonmaker.

He is also survived by his dear sisters and brothers in law, Rosalie and Peter Gour, Judy and Herve Fortier Jr., and sister-in-law Marie Lamontagne. Albert’s heart was enriched by a myriad of nieces and nephews who filled his life with joy.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Joan E. Lamontagne (Liberty), his former wife, Barbara J. Peters (Lunt), and his siblings (and spouses): Shirley and Edward Robidoux, Irene and Robert Bedard, Joyce and Gerard Lussier, and his brother Paul Lamontagne.

Bunny will be remembered for the love and laughter he shared with those fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will carry forward his legacy of warmth and dedication to the outdoors.
